Did you know CA has an unofficial-official photographer? If you’ve been to a CA Event you’ve probably seen Mr. Geoff with a camera in his hands taking pictures that appear in our marketing materials, social media and the yearbook. This year Mr. Geoff opened a side business named Painted Barn Media to expand from an expensive hobby to a profitable (hopefully) business venture. Through his photography website, paintedbarn.smugmug.com, Mr. Geoff makes CA Event/Sports photos available for FREE download.
You are free to download and use CA photos from the Painted Barn Media site however you wish. If by chance, you would like to compensate Painted Barn Media for this service, be assured that the money will be invested in camera and lens upgrades that will improve the quality of photos of our students and athletes. The address for Painted Barn Media is available on the web or you can drop off money with Mrs. Shannon in the office.
For the third year in a row the Covenant Academy Lions Middle School Soccer team will compete in the Championship Game of the MTAC Tournament. CA is the smallest school in the MTAC, yet year after year they find a way to the championship game. Will the third time be the charm? The last two have ended in disappointment, but the Lions have used that disappointment as motivation for this year’s season and tournament.
Covenant Academy is hosting the MTAC Middle School Championship Saturday at their new soccer field located at the corner of Manchester Hwy and C Swift Lane in Morrison (across Manchester Hwy from the Morrison Shell station).Due to poor field conditions caused by the rain Thursday night/Friday morning the games on Saturday will be played at the Pistole Park Soccer Complex in McMinnville.

With two regular season games left to play the varsity Lions have already achieved more success than all previous varsity soccer teams. Their record stands at 6-1, with the only blemish, a season opening loss to league leading West Academy on an extremely sloppy field. The Lions are currently in 3rd place in the MTAC standings. Thursday night they will face off against 2nd place Lighthouse Christian in the final regular season home game. Thursday night’s game will be Senior night where we will bid farewell to Taylor, Hannah, Jeel and Samuel. The high school game will follow the middle school game, so game time is expected to be around 5:30. The regular season finale for the varsity Lions will be a road contest in White House, Tn facing Christian Community School. The MTAC Varsity Soccer Tournament will be held the week of May 8-13.
Last year’s middle school team made it all of the way to the MTAC Championship Final where they came up just short of winning the championship. This year’s middle school team is continuing the winning tradition winning all of their games so far by comfortable margins. Their latest success came Tuesday afternoon with a 5-1 victory over Providence Christian Academy in a game played in Murfreesboro. The Middle School Lions are schedule to be in action Thursday night against Lighthouse Christian at 4:30. Next week the Middle School Lions will compete in the MTAC Middle School Soccer Tournament with a game on Tuesday night for sure and games on Thursday and Saturday if they win on Tuesday. Tuesday’s game will likely be at Home and CA will once again host the Consolation and Finals on Saturday May 6th.
